Yzerman signed a one year contract with the Red Wings today for what it is believed to be a $4 million deal with bonus incentives bringing the total up to $6 million. This will be Yzerman’s 22nd NHL season and continues to be the longest-serving captain. “We are all very pleased to have Steve back for one more year,” GM Ken Holland said in a statement. “He brings a great deal of dedication, skill and leadership abilities to our hockey club and I feel his competitive nature will greatly help this team remain successful.”
